.....All Corsairs took off without incident and rendezvoused with 21 Dauntlesses and 8 Mitchels at 12,000' over Cape St. George at 0823, and all planes set out on course by 0835. The SBDs and PBJs flew at 11,000' - 12,000' with 2 divisions of Corsairs weaving about them at 13,000' with the third division at 14,500'.

.....The course was to Wide Bay then overland across the neck to Open Bay, thence north along the coast to the target areas.

.....Approaching the target the SBDs commenced their high-speed approach from south of Pondo Point and dove to the west to hit buildings in the assigned area. The Corsairs orbited at 10,000' SE of the target while the SBDs and PBJs made their bombing runs, after which the Corsairs made their runs. The Corsairs pushed over at 9,500' in a shallow dive and released their bombs among the buildings in the target areas from 500'- 1,000' following the bombing all Corsairs made 3 strafing runs on the buildings.

.....All planes rallied at 3,000' 5 miles off the coast and proceeded home via Cape Lambert, across the Duke of York, down St. Georges Channel, around Cape St. George and direct to base.
