Ten (10) F4U-l's in commission and twenty two (22) pilots available. Three (3) gunnery flights consisting of four (4) planes each, dawn and dusk patrol, one (1) test hop of an F4U-1 and One (1) scramble completed today’s operations.

July 2

Ten (10) F4U-l's in commission and twenty-two (22) pilots available. The schedule for today consisted of, three (3) gunnery hops consisting of four (4) planes each, three (3) familiarization flights of four (4) planes each.

July 3

Ten (10) F4U-l's in commission and twenty-two pilots available. Operations today consisted of, two (2) familiarization hops, three (3) gunnery flights and one (1) test hop.

July 4

Ten (10) F4U-1' s in commission and twenty-two (22) pilots available. Three (3) gunnery and four (4) tactics hops completed today’s operations. Parker, John H. Corp and Griffiths, Rex L. PhM3c were transferred from this squadron to 4th 1ABDW as of this date.

July 5

Ten (10) F4U-l's in commission and twenty two (22) pilots available. Dawn and dusk patrol of four (4) planes each, three (3) gunnery hops and two (2) test hops completed the schedule for today. Veisser, Carl S. StfSgt., Parker, Alfred D. Corp., and Vaughan, Edward F. Corp. tried and sentenced by S.C.M.

July 6

Twelve (12) F4U-l's in commission and twenty two (22) pilots available. Four (4) gunnery hops and three (3) tactics flights completed today’s operations.

July 7

Eight (8) F4U-l's in commission and twenty two (22) pilots available. Dawn and dusk patrol were carried out with four (4) planes flying each patrol. Two (2) scrambles, two (2) gunnery hops, and one (1) test hop completed today’s schedule.

July 8

Eight (8) F4U-l's in commission and twenty two (22) pilots available. Three (3) gunnery hops, one (1) familiarization and one (1) simulated bombing completed today's flight schedule.

July 9

Eight (8) F4U-1’s in commission and twenty-two (22) pilots available. The flight, schedule consisted of, dawn and dusk patrol, each of four (4) planes, and one gunnery hop of four (4) planes.

July 10

Nine (9) F4U-l's in commission and twenty (20) pilots available. Four (4) gunnery hops each of four (4) planes and two (2) division tactics completed today’s operations. Major Carnagey, Pierre M. and T. Sgt. Estes, Claude H. returned from temporary duty with 4th 1SBDAW.

July 11

Ten (10) F4U-l's in commission and twenty-two (22) pilots available. Dawn and dusk patrol, two (2) tactics hops and one (1) flight of glide bombing and strafing completed today's operations. Captain Donald H. Sapp was promoted to rank of Major and 1st Lt. William D. Moore was promoted to rank of Captain as of this date.

July 12

Ten (10) F4U-1's in commission and twenty two (22) pilots available. One gunnery hop of four (4) planes and one test hop completed today’s operations.

July 13

Eleven (11) F4U-l’s in commission and twenty-two (22) pilots available. Dawn and dusk patrol, one (1) scramble and tactics flight completed today’s operations.

July 14

Eleven (11) F4U-l's in commission and twenty-two (22) pilots available. One scramble consisting of nine (9) planes and two (2) tactics flints completed today's operations.

July 15

Thirteen (13) F4U-l's in commission and twenty-two (22) pilots available. After dawn patrol a scramble saw all our aircraft, thirteen (13) airborne in three (3) minutes forty five (45) seconds, for a flight of nearly an hour. This terminated our operations at this station as VMF-222 was transferred from MAG-22, 4th MBDAW to Hq. Sq. 4th MBDAW, F.M.F. Transferred Weisser, Carl R. Sgt. to Hq Sq. MAG-22.

July 16

Embarked and sailed from N.A.S., Midway Islands, aboard S.S. Hualalai at 1045 this date.
