.....Due to the nature of the target, completely jungle covered, no definite results were observed. All bombs were in the assigned target area, getting an excellent pattern.

.....All planes took off and effected a running join up with the SBDs about 30 miles NE of Wide Bay, and took position at 13,000' as low cover over the SBDs who were at 12,000' - 12,500'.

.....The Corsairs orbited over Open Bay while the SBDs bombed their two targets, and followed the SBDs immediately to hit the reported enemy concentrations at the mouth of the Sai River. Pushovers and releases were at 9,500' and 1,500' - 2,600' respectively, with all bombing runs being made from north to South.

.....Following the bombing all 8 planes rejoined to make 2 strafing runs on their target. The planes then joined up on the SBDs in the vicinity of Cape Lambert, and escorted them to Duke of York Island, where they were relieved of their escort duty by the SBD flight leader.
